I was born on 14th august 1985 in Budapest. I first showed interest in art work at the age of 6 after which I spent much of my free time drawing. During this time I mostly used pencils both graphite and coloured. My favourite subjects were cars, animals, dinosaurs and cartoon characters. During my time at primary school my drawings were always placed on display in school art shows, one picture I fondly remember was an autumn nature scene which I am still very proud of due to the use of colours, however I have since lost this picture.
At the age of 12 I stopped drawing for a period of almost 10 years. After graduating from high school I went to university where I studied horticulture. It was here that I rediscovered my interest in drawing.
To retrain myself I first used everyday objects and then started practising with portraits of myself. Over a 3 month period I went to an arts and crafts workshop in Godollo, where under the wings of Sara F.Orosz I learnt much of the basics of art work and in particular drawing. Not long after this experience I met with Istvan Santa, a painter and graphic artist who helped and inspired me to improve. It was from him that I not only found out technical skills, but was also able to discover my own style and areas of interest. One day while drawing with Jimi Hendrix blasting out form the radio and discussing “the big things in life” I realised that my addiction in life would be music and art.
During this period my pictures only consisted of portraits and caricatures which were drawn either with graphite and colour pencils, black ink pens or watercolour painting. Two colour pencil drawings were made on black velvet, these were depictions of Natural Born Killers and Kirk Hammet.
After much experimentation with pencils, I started showing interest in digital painting. I got my first digital pen tablet, a Wacom Intuos3 which I have used since. Initially it was very difficult to get used to and become “friendly” with it, as it is totally different to drawing with pens and pencils as you no longer watch your hand, but have to focus on the monitor. However nowadays I only use the pen tablet for all my art work.
In December of 2008 I illustrated two articles in Wan2 magazine. My most prominent work to date can be viewed at www.iwanttobeababy.com, which contains caricatures of Hollywood stars and other famous people paying particular emphasise on their childish attributes. Creating these pictures was particularly interesting for me as it was very different to my usual style.
I feel having a lifestyle involved in creative work captures your whole being and alters your perception of life forever.
